JONFFRWN is a noa-name for the island of Blåkulla, or Blå Jungfrun, whose highly varied landscape looks like a ocean polished stone upon the blue horizon off the coast of Öland. During the 16th century, the name Blåkulla was considered unnecessarily dangerous to pronounce aloud, and the island was instead referred to as Blå Jungfrun.
